NEW BLOOD CARD w/ FORCED COMPLIANCE also LEGALISM
by apocalypse ini have looked around and i don't see this covered, so i am starting a thread.. 1) the new "blood card" goes beyond being just a "blood card".. 2) a new edict concerning compliance.. pay attention to the changes.. first, the new card is termed "advance decision to refuse specified medical treatment".
the big change with the card itself is that it includes an 'override' of your "power of attorney".
this is huge.

It sounds kinda like the card we've been using in Oregon for years. I got rid of mine a few years back but I'm pretty sure it had a DNR attached with it. I remember being told our card had to be different from everyone else's because of Oregon laws. Anyone else from Oregon remember this? -

How JW ignore the help Felicity Sneesby got from the "World"
by StephaneLaliberte inlately, in the february broadcast program, at the 46 minutes mark, the watchtower provides the story of felicity sneesby.
this report focuses on how, despite her serious illness, she, along with her family, has always placed her faith in jehovah and how happy she is for being part of jehovah’s family.. i am shocked by how this jw’s report completely ignores the help that this family has received from this system of things through the years.
for instance, they slept at the ronald mcdonald house on at least 6 separate occasions and for long periods of time.

Phelicity, the Australian sister from this month's JW Broadcast, has passed away. Hope to meet her in paradise to thank her for her faith! 😭

Interesting post. I believe we're never going to see a mass exodus. Why? The cost of leaving, for most, is to high. You lose your "friends" and for many your family.
what I do see though, especially amongst the 25 and younger crowd, is they aren't becoming as mentally invested in the religion as previous generations. Sure, they still pioneer, help with construction projects, and many still reach out to become servants or elders. Ask them anything related to doctrine? 607bc what? Jesus isn't my mediator? What's a mediator? They aren't invested in the doctrine anymore. They don't follow the rules as strictly as older ones did. Yeah they'll follow some rules, but if rules inconvenience them, well then not so much.

Love this quote from Richard Devine, watchtower spokesman-
For their part, the Witnesses do not view themselves as being in the real estate business. “Real estate is incidental to our mission,” Mr. Devine said. “We’ve never bought properties on speculation. When we no longer need them, we sell them.”

Any ExJw Millenials here? If not which Gen do you fall under?

Born in 80, I always feel like I could relate to both groups. GenX, was my cool older brother. I always wanted to be into the things he was into. Millennial seemed like the younger brother, who would tell me what I'm doing/wearing isn't cool anymore. -

I don't have Pinterest, or any other social media account other than Twitter. I can tell you from experience, even just asking a Jw a question will 99% of the time get you blocked instantly. -

United States baptism stats 1969-2015
by the comet inwhenever the new yearbooks come out, we all look at the figures and see the publisher increase never really matches up with the baptism figures.
it never should match up as all newly baptized ones are already publishers, and may have been for many years.
i, as an example, became an unbaptized publisher at age 11. i didn't get baptized until i was 17. .

finally got around to figuring in the death rates. total number of baptized from the 1969 service year through the 2015 service year, with death rates figured in at 1% is 1,462,208. One question i have is, what percentage of publishers are unbaptized? 10-15%? -

When I have time I will apply death rates to the numbers so I can avoid endlessly causing misunderstandings and misinformation. -

Foreign language publishers and congregations in the United States
by the comet inin collecting the baptism figures for the u.s. i was reading through the yearbooks and came across an interesting paragraph.
in the 2007 yearbook page 16 it says the u.s. has 254,00 publishers in spanish speaking congregations and 26,000 in other languages.
it also had the figure of a total of 3,742 foreign language congregations.. that figures out to 30% of the total u.s. congregations are foreign language.

I don't see how that changes the numbers
